JanelJanel Moore – Head Receptionist

Janel has worked at Pet Kare clinic since September of 2013 as one of our front desk receptionists. She graduated from Hope College in 2001 with a B.A. in Psychology and English, spent 4 years working at the Steamboat Springs Animal Shelter, owned her own sewing/alteration business for 7 years, and worked at two other vet clinics in Estes Park, CO. Janel is a big ‘rescue-advocate’, has helped with transporting over a dozen animals into lower risk situations, and has a soft spot for special needs animals. She considers herself the resident ‘crazy cat lady’, but is also equally as crazy about border collies (especially her own border collies!).img_0796

In her free time (hah!), Janel enjoys hot springing and camping with her boyfriend Brian, writing poetry, knitting, yoga, meditation, sewing, lap-swimming, TUBING, anything art-related of any sort, and cross-country skiing. At home in Oak Creek, she lives with her 2 border collies Trixie and Palmer, and her older kitty, Simba. Janel is a big health-food junkie (mostly vegetarian since 1995) and Neil Young junkie.

ineke[title size=”3″ content_align=”left” style_type=”single solid” sep_color=”” class=”” id=””]Ineke Vandervelde[/title] If you’ve been to Pet Kare Clinic, you’ve met Ineke and her witty sense of humor. Ineke is our longest-standing (both literally and figuratively) full-time receptionist, having been with Pet Kare Clinic since 2007. She enjoys interacting with both the animals and the clients, and often has the answer if somebody else doesn’t.img_0759

Ineke is originally from the Netherlands, was educated at the School of Life, and has traveled extensively. Steamboat Springs became her home in 1986, where she lives with her husband, Dave, as well as 2 dogs (Sam and Millie) , one great mouser named Kat, horses, cows, and a donkey. Her passions in life are family and  friends, travel, horseback riding, camping and, of course, animals.

sarah[title size=”3″ content_align=”left” style_type=”single solid” sep_color=”” class=”” id=””]Sarah Hoeller[/title] Sarah is the jolly laughter you will encounter at the front desk. She has been a front desk receptionist at Pet Kare Clinic since 2006, and is the essence of customer service. She loves the people, the animals, and the social aspect of the job.

“I am a member of many self-help groups, but I am not a licensed therapist! No, really, went to college for graphic design, but I don’t use my degree. I am a professional dog nanny. I used to own my own pet sitting business, but now I just work for one family and for Pet Kare Clinic”.Sarah-and-rabbit

Sarah’s hobbies include: FISHING, horseback riding, FISHING, walking her wonderful hound dogs Ida Mae and Minnie Mae, FISHING, skiing, FISHING, travelling to warm & sunny beach places…and…FISHING. She is also a volunteer for the Marine Mammal Conservancy and has helped pilot whales and dolphins that have suffered from mass stranding. She was, in fact, filmed by Miami News while helping a staff vet with a pilot whale. Sara is also a self-quoted ‘bird-nerd’ and was in a Jacques Cousteau film with Beluga whales at the age of 6 years old.

Sharon is our self-proclaimed “science geek”, always entertaining us with her quick wit and edgy sarcasm mixed with little-known bits of science facts! She joined the Pet Kare front desk  staff in August of 2016.  She moved to Steamboat Springs in June and is thrilled to be back in Colorado after a three year stint in Rock Springs, WY.

Sharon is an Air Force brat, but claims Ohio as her home state.  She has been a Science and Math educator for more than 20 years and is happy to be learning more about medical science here in the clinic.  She enjoys hiking, camping, playing silly games and self-referencing in the third person.  Look for her, her husband and Labradork at Rita Valentine park on almost any day of the week.

Rosie moved to Steamboat from Atlanta, GA in March of 2014, six months after marrying her husband who has lived in Steamboat for 25 years. She began working at Pet Kare 2 years later as a part-time receptionist.

She has had a love of animals since she was a little girl. Vet school seemed like an impossiblility because of the expense so she elected to go to Animal Health Technical School, a 3-year program at both Harcum College in Bryn Mawr and the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. She graduated in 1983 and has been in the animal health industry every since. She has been a vet tech, a lab tech mixing children’s vaccines, and an animal hopital manager, among other things.

Rosie has a combined family, moving here with her 2 cats to live with her husband and his cat. Since then, they have been adopted by another frisky feline as well.  Rosie’s passion has been wildlife rehab which she started shortly after graduating college. She looks forward to continuing to do wildlife rehab here in Colorado.

Some of her hobbies include playing ultimate Frisbee, disc golf, mountain biking, skiing, hiking and sailing. Rosie’s extensive experience in the veterinary field and her calm demanor make her an excellent addition to the Pet Kare Team!

Now she lives in Steamboat with her husband and her two dogs, Dood, a black lab, and Dax, who is a mixed breed. Her love of animals has always been very strong and she loves all of them!

Her favorite part of working at Pet Kare is all the wonderful pets and clients, not to mention the amazing Pet Kare Team! She has always wanted to work in Veterinary Medicine and is so thankful to be a part of such a remarkable clinic!Receptionists 2

Interesting facts about Hannah: She is in love with being outdoors, especially camping! She is artistic and loves to draw, photography and sometimes painting. She loves to surround herself with good friends and enjoy company of good people. She hopes to get more involved with Veterinary Medicine as her career, and do as much traveling as she possibly can!

fullsizerenderHolly Degidts

Holly joined the Pet Kare team shortly after moving to Steamboat in August 2015.  She had been working in the veterinary field for 5 years, mostly as a receptionist, where she was raised in Arkansas. She was so immediately proficient and knowledgeable at our front desk that she became cross-trained as a vet tech shortly thereafter.

Outside of work, Holly spends all of her time with her vivacious 4-year-old little girl. They enjoy swimming, watching movies, and going to the park. When she gets the chance, Holly’s favorite past time is relaxing. She also enjoys skiing.

Whether charming clients with her bubbly personality at the front desk or running the show with fiery spirit in the back, she has become an indispensable member of our team.
