The Pet Kare Clinic is constantly striving to ensure the best care for your pet. Due to an increase in prescription medication fraud relating to on-line pharmacies we are changing our protocol for on-line prescriptions. We will no longer be able to fill this type of prescription by fax. From now on we will ask you to come by our office to pick up a hand written prescription. Then, you will be able to fill your prescription anywhere you choose. Please call us ahead of time so that the doctor has time to review your pet's medical history and prepare the written prescription.

By law we are unable to fill any medication if your pet has not been examined within 12 months.

The most common prescriptions filled by internet pharmacies involve heartworm, flea and tick preventives, and pain medication. You may not realize that the drugs being sold by the internet pharmacies are considered "gray market" medication. Many are obtained through second and third hand sources and not directly from the drug companies who make them and maintain strict quality control. The manufacturer will not offer any product support for medications obtained through these sources. When purchased through a veterinarian's office product support is available. This means if you are treating your pet with medication from an approved source and your pet gets sick from that drug, in many cases, the manufacturer will pay for your pet's medical care.

Because the Pet Kare Clinic values you and your business we will match any on-line pharmacy prices on heartworm, flea and tick preventives, pain medication and in many cases other prescriptions as well. All you need to do is bring a recent print out of the online pharmacy price and give us a chance to match it.
