Exotic Species Medicine and Surgery
Dr. Christina and Kim have strong backgrounds in avian and small mammal patients and Dr. Craig has a strong background in the herps (reptiles and amphibians). Dr. Craig has a special interest in snakes as he used to breed pythons while in veterinary school. The great majority of illnesses we see in exotic pets are direct results of poor husbandry. Poor husbandry happens because owners are often misinformed about proper care for their pets by pet stores, hobbiests, or the internet. Others assume their home care is good because they haven't had a problem yet. Therefore, the best preventative step you can take is to bring your new exotic pet in for a general exam and consultation about proper husbandry and care.
